The New Narrative for Young Business Professionals in Alaska

If your first job out of college in Alaska was for a small to medium sized, local business, then you have probably heard some version of the below narrative.
This is the kind of company where hard work and leadership are rewarded with opportunity. When I was a young man/woman such as yourself, I worked hard and by the time I was 27 (or some other astonishingly young age) there was a real opportunity for me and I became the General Manager! Work hard, be smart and at this company you can have the same opportunities!The new hire thinks to himself, “I’m young, professional, hard working, smart and driven… within 3-4 years, I want his job!” However, a company usually only has one General Manager at a given location.
